Greta Thunberg Arrives In Lisbon, Portugal Before COP 25 Madrid

Bravo La Vagabonde and all! The Atlantic crossing journey was over 3,000 miles for intrepid passengers Greta and father Svante Thunberg and crew, AU's Capt. Riley Whitlum, Elayna Carausu and baby Lenny, and navigator Nikki Henderson.

LISBON (Reuters) Climate activist Greta Thunberg arrived in Lisbon on Tuesday after making a 20-day crossing from New York aboard the catamaran La Vagabonde, Reuters Television footage showed.

The Swedish campaigner, who refuses to travel by plane, has returned to Europe to attend the COP25 climate summit in Madrid. She was met by hundreds of supporters chanting and waving banners as her boat docked in port and she stepped ashore.

I have a vacation coming up, and I'll be flying across the country, twice. What she is doing has me thinking about what future infrastructure we could build that would negate that. (High speed rail/hyperloop)

Nothing that can be completed before my trip, obviously, but it gets me thinking about where to put my support for the future.
It's a conversation I'm having with myself, and factors I might not have considered, that I otherwise might not have had.

So I'm grateful to her.

What child do you know that has global power?
Who on this planet has been able to stimulate awareness in such mass about climate change?
She is a powerful person and happens to be a child.
She is waking up leaders and has the mic of the UN.

Something very powerful is moving through this child for all of us to listen to and to take action. She is a force.

Thank you Greta!

being used by adults to promote a cause. The cause is good, the using of this young girl has bothered me since she first appeared on the scene. I find it very disturbing.
