Dec. 12, 2019. CBS News asked Trump supporters at the president's rally Tuesday in Hershey, Pennsylvania how they would respond if Trump was removed from office. More than one supporter said there would be a "second Civil War" if President Trump is removed from office. "He is not going to be removed... My .357 Magnum is comfortable with that. End of story," one man said.

"Trump rallygoer who appeared in a viral CBS News video, ominously warning that the country might descend into a second Civil War if President Donald Trump was removed from office in a Senate trial, is actually an InfoWars host who has pushed the same civil war warnings in the past.
The man, Will Johnson, was included in a disturbing video taken at Trumps Pennsylvania rally that quickly gained attention for the ominous threats of violence Trump supporters offered up. None of the people interviewed were identified by name.
Nearly one day after the video was first posted on Twitter, CBS News replied to the original tweet with an editors note naming Johnson and identifying him as a media personality who has contributed to InfoWars. (Johnson posted his own video from the rally...)"...

(41,131 posts)Trump-Themed Pop-Up Store Opens In Wilmington..The four stores across Massachusetts sell Trump and Second Amendment memorabilia, as well as some Boston sports gear. Dec. 10, 2019. The Patch.
WILMINGTON, MA Traditionally, if you want a shirt with a politician's name on it, you buy it from the campaign or from stands at places such as the National Mall. Certainly, you wouldn't find an entire brick-and-mortar retail store devoted to that merchandise in a Boston suburb. Or in four different Boston suburbs, as the case may be.
But that's exactly what the "New England for Trump" chain of stores provides. It opened its 4th location, 424 Main St. in Wilmington, this weekend...https://patch.com/massachusetts/wilmington/trump-themed-pop-store-opens-wilmington

(18,628 posts)Here's the thing, they're all Social Security age and lucky to find the energy to make it to the bar anymore, something I'm quick to point out. They seem to think millenials and Xers are anxious to follow their lead (or orders).
I suspect this "civil war" will fought out in the letters to the editor page of the local papers.

When there is a real, serious threat of some kind, it will be clear. This is posturing for their leader.
So, yeah, let's not encourage them or acknowledge empty and idle mind puke.

(8,734 posts)They do realize, the law allows us to shoot back once attacked. The is not gonna be a gun party out in bubbas pasture shooting at targets. I can promise, just like me, millions of us with schildren and spouses will not stand in a pasture while they attack us. Easy access to weapons, have made the opposition equal. Besides, have you seen these jerks. Go to Walmart and look at their physical abilities. You can't when a war from your front porch watching Fox. Many vets like myself have been shot at and know how to respond to protect those around us. A 357 mag is not an accurate weapon, unless you are very close. So, walk on up asshole. Be waitin'.

(9,287 posts)I wonder if these ignorant people understand that. Which modern civil war would they pick for their families to experience personally?
There wont be any medicare or social security with a US civil war. The currency would crash. In a country paved with guns, how do they think their offspring or gene pool survives?
Also I wish these reporters would ask them who would you kill first? Men, women children?
In America, violence and hate seems to be the answer to every question.

(32,626 posts)I've been to rallies, marches, protests and it results in no ink, no photo, no microphone. Thousands of people do not make the local news, but a few radical-white-right-wing'ers get the full treatment. Makes me sick. What is projected, and perceived is not real, but is condoned and amplified.

We already know this country has too many guns in the hands of too many crazy sons a bitches. I wouldnt give these idiots exposure with interviewing or repeating this garbage. Shame on CBS for airing it. Im disappointed DU even posts this crap. All it does is make the viewer more paranoid than we already are.

(2,412 posts)The anger these people feel is coming from somewhere. Racism is a big part of the mix but I sense that is also an anger about being left out of the booming economy and not enough government services. They want to blame someone. Instead of blaming the top 2% and the billionaires and the misguiding conservative think tanks they blame Black and Brown People, Lberals and Leftists.
appalachiablue
(41,131 posts)1996 now on the internet will give them more than enough to be angry about. As well as some ministers I guess. Along with major endemic racism and the newest conspiracy theory of the "Great Replacement."
But I also agree that they are expressing anger at being left out of the 'good economy' and the reduction of govt. services that began 40 years ago with Reaganism that we are still in. Anti globalization sentiment too.
The Great Replacement (French: grand remplacement), also known as the replacement theory, is a white nationalist far-right conspiracy theory which states that, with the complicity or cooperation of "replacist" elites,[a] the white French populationas well as white European population at largeis being progressively replaced with non-European peoplesspecifically Arab, Berber and sub-Saharan Muslim populations from Africa and the Middle Eastthrough mass migration, demographic growth and a European drop in the birth rate.
The "Great Replacement" is included in a larger white genocide conspiracy theory that has spread in Western far-right movements since the late 20th century. Despite their common reference to a "genocide" of indigenous white peoples and a global plan led by a conspiring power, Camus's theory does not include an antisemitic Jewish plot, which is, according to political scientist Jean-Yves Camus and historian Nicolas Lebourg, a reason for its broader appeal...

(9,287 posts)CBS News conducted interviews outside a December 10, 2019, Trump rally in Hershey, Pennsylvania, presenting the interview subjects as random Trump supporters in a video posted to social media.
Writer and editor at The Informant, Nick Martin, pointed out that one of the random Trump supporters interviewed was Infowars host Will Johnson. In the interview Johnson said removal of Donald Trump through the process of impeachment would result in a civil war.
Johnson, who has previously said we are in a civil war, is also the creator of Unite America First, a group that has called Democrats domestic terrorists.
A similar situation occurred in 2017, when Kevn Martin, who had contributed to Infowars and been praised by Jones, appeared on Fox News and was interviewed in the crowd of a Trump rally in Pennsylvania by none other than Sean Hannity.
