for the nation of Israel in the old testament for doing just what Trump is doing.
If you want to throw something in their face, ask if they have read the book of Jeremiah.

they believe he's going to finally bring about "the rapture". With Pompeo in the Dept. of State, pressing heavily for more confrontation in the Middle East, Trump is vain enough to not care as long as he's still supported by the votes of the god-squad. I don't think evangelicals believe Trump has had a "come to jesus" moment, but they believe Trump will further their agenda, and that's all that matters to them.
