My children were raised to understand they had no right to privacy until they were 18 and I exercised my right to invade it often. Our computer was in the living room because the Internet is a dangerous place even for grown ups.

felt safe keeping a diary because I knew she would read it.

But after learning all these horrible things as an adult I don't blame her. (I still think she could have knocked at the door though)

and ABC did an entire series of these kinds of efforts.

The difference was that they actually set up meets at the "homes" of these girls. The men ALWAYS showed up. The "little girl" would say that she wanted to change clothes or something to leave the room. Then Jensen stepped in and confronted the men on camera and spoke to them. Their rationale was jaw-dropping and deceitful. Almost all of them denied why they were there. The local PD was always outside to arrest them the minute they stepped out the door.

This was on back in the 2000s. It was horrifying to watch. But it was also, heartbreaking. Some of the men would break down and cry, begging for help with what they knew was an emotional sickness, but couldn't stop themselves. Some were grateful to be arrested.

What's really sad is that the recidivism rate for this kind of crime is almost 90%.
