I was, frankly, a bit skeptical of the effectiveness a virtual convention might have.

They proved me wrong (happy to say!).

Maybe Bill Maher can use the applause footage.

Those were a little on the hokey side. A little contrived.

Might have been better to instead follow each speech up with a short vignette of someone whose life was impacted by something Obama and Biden did in office (or negatively so, since Orange Amin took office).

Above all, something short-and-sweet. Brevity is essential in this day and age.

Great minds think alike.

Just joking, of course. I'm sure she had that thought long before I did.

Seriously, though, The Dems would do well to tweak the format just a little. We want there to be nothing that Repugs could use against us (though they'll no doubt think of something!).

By that I mean just about anyone who any of of us has supported or has representing them - from Beto, to Bernie, to Amy Klobuchar, to Andrew Yang, to Tom Steyer - and they all had inspiring and positive messages. The Republicans just don't have that star power - or the message. And Michelle Obama is incomparable.

Unless Ted Nugent intends to shit on himself on live tv, they really won't have anything newsworthy to offer now will they!

Pence? McConnell?? Ted Cruz?! Yikes! And as for accomplishments to boast about - they're better off saying nothing.

Repugs seem to think she's "the future of the party" - or some such nonsense.

Everything Trump does - or says - is cringeworthy, but he has absolutely no awareness that he is. He's infatuated with anyone who praises him and values that above all. I have Mary Trump's book on audio to play in my car and just listened to the very beginning today on my way home - and it's even more disturbing than I anticipated, but enlightening.

Let's face it, even in the 'best of times' there's lot of cheese at political conventions.

And I know what you mean, I've heard some of the nominations and the flowery speeches they use to make them. And, of course, knowing that they're on TV, the speakers want to make a memorable impression.

And I have a memory of having taken part in a presidential convention when I was in elementary school. I had little clue what was going on nor memory of who was nominated, just that I represented the great state of Virginia - and I'm in New York.

Here's hoping Bernie can help keep as many left-wing voters in the Biden fold as humanly possible.

I hope they all realize that Trump will probably go after them first, in what would surely be a dictatorial second term.

Well, maybe after we goes after the 'RINOs'. Nothing in this world he hates more.

Bernie is doing his best to bring the party together for the good of all Americans. Great speech.

If we are going to win, we need all hands on deck. God bless Bernie Sanders.

Bravo Senator Sanders! Perfect speech and thank you so very much for always remembering those of us whom the GOP holds in contempt. Thank you for always standing for the people who are the real supports of this country.
