Truth Behind the Koch Bros. "LIBRE" Initiative; Working To Keep Wages Low & Poverty High



Brave New Films. $7.25 an hour, 40 hrs. a week, comes out to $15,000 per year, well below the poverty level. The majority of Americans make $18,000 a year.

- Sourcewatch: The Libre Initiative is a latino front group registered as a non-profit 501(c)(4) organization. According to the group's website, "LIBRE's mission is to increase economic freedom and prosperity by promoting free enterprise, responsibility and a more constitutionally limited government."
The group has received over 10 million dollars in funding from organizations linked to the Koch brothers. The Libre Initiative was launched by the group's current executive director Daniel Garza, a former White House staffer under George W. Bush.
According to Media Matters, Libre has said that it "aligns more with Republicans" and "with the principles and ideas of Charles and David Koch." The Libre Initiative has an affiliated 501(c)(3) group, the Libre Institute, also headed by Garza.

In September of 2016, the Kochs reorganized their political network to make the Libre Initiative, their veterans' front group Concerned Veterans for America (CVA), and their youth front group Generation Opportunity sub-projects of AFP...

So many billionaires and would be billionaires are dependent upon cheap labor and seem willing to fight to the death (ours) for it and their gig economy that delivers huge profits/capital to them.

Uber and Lyft are pouring millions into battling benefits and fair wages for drivers in California and elsewhere. They have a big seat at the table in DC and state legislatures through massive lobbying.

We do not have the money or organization to combat.

improved conditions and benefits. The actions of Uber and Lyft mgmt. despite court rulings and many others have to change. The country is at a crisis point, like the world.
