3. It absolutely is NOT normal, not just for the US, but any advanced nation,

or any emerging nation with values.

These scenes reminded me of the Civil Rights marches, white people SO afraid (and some had reason to be, especially from their POV) that they boarded up their businesses in preparation for the surge.

Those cases were far more scattered, and most people had plenty of time to prepare, if that was their mindset. This is a potential tornado wrapped inside a hurricane, and if it approaches at all, it will be fast and furious. I'm really, REALLY hoping that people will just accept the result, but I'm not at all sanguine about that.

In fact, I'm much more confident of the outcome than I am of any backlash.
