Quick summary.

Elect President Obama; remain engaged and mobilized ("keep working to try to change society and consciousness and the culture so we're not stuck with two options both to the right of where the population is&quot ; Occupy was a "spectacular achievement," "this one tactic (Occupy) was remarkably effective for something which by its nature could only last for a couple of months."

Discusses civil rights movement, MLK ("all of that rarely gets discussed&quot , partial successes of social movements. Compares social activism to mountain climbing.

More.

I think that may be the most important thing I take away from Chomsky talks. That, and his statement that both parties are well to the right of the majority of the population.

Another war would be a carbon footprint, among other things, that we just cannot tolerate.

Winning elections is important — therefore, advocating in favor of Republican nominees or in favor of third-party spoiler candidates that could split the vote and throw an election to our conservative opponents is never permitted on Democratic Underground

There is zero chance that by Chomsky voting for Jill Stein that Massachusetts electoral votes could go to Romney. Obama has it locked up.

Did you watch the video? He said if he were in a contested state he would vote for Obama.

If you check the TOS box that should get it to the admins.

You could also try pointing it out in Meta to see if anybody else cares about it.

Maybe we can start a new anti-Chomsky meme.
We can make posts like "Chomsky is an ass-hat! nt."

Personally I am not bothered by this video at all. I would think Pres. Obama should be happy to receive this kind of virtual support, which is really what it is. He said vote for Obama in contested states to keep Romney out.

He's been there..done that.. he is a responsible elder now and weaves the story of America, our struggle, and history. I sometimes tire of the monotone but there is so much in every thought, I hang on and listen.
