1. The fears aren't legitimate.

They've always been overblown. There isn't even going to be a civil skirmish. There will continue to be pockets of whackjobs who raise hell, as there have always been. There will be nothing on the scale of a civil war.

Much of it comes out of ignorant, delusional right-wingers pretending that they could defeat the federal government if it came to that. That assertion is and has always been laughable.

2. I can't figure what these freedoms are they claim they are losing. They have been hording guns

and ammo for years now. There were no guns at the shops until recently and there still is no ammo.
It's not because they don't make either one it's because they buy them soon as they come in to the store.
They are backed up against the wall, how?

4. They're incapable of critical thinking.

Even though every other gun-buying panic in the last 40 years has been due to a fake, imagined threat concocted by the NRA and other rabble-rousers - that never materialized - they all assume that the latest one absolutely must be legitimate.

Many conservatives fear seemingly everything so it doesn't take much to jack them up into buying more guns, even though their fantasies never cross into reality.
