8. I missed the whole week

So I'm catching up and watching them all at once, well in succession. I might not have noticed otherwise but it always gets my attention when someone tries to guess what someone else is thinking for some reason. I like to see if they do or not, kind of like the coin toss in Rosencrans and Gildenstern Are Dead.

9. This really was a banner week for Colbert - he went live on the night of Biden's speech

That's one thing that always impresses me about him, he prides himself on being current with the news and didn't miss a beat in talking about the speech even though it had only been over for an hour! I remember one night, ages ago, when there was breaking news right when he was taping his monologue - and instead of continuing with what was planned, he stopped and ad-libbed about the breaking news instead!

And I once saw a live performance of Rosencrans and Gildenstern Are Dead, but it was ages ago so I'll have to review the plot!

10. I had to read it in school and I thought I would hate it.

But I didn't and I am reminded of it from time to time, still have it in my library.

The coin toss is an activity that occurs throughout the play from the very start. Can't recall which one but one of them is constantly flipping a coin to see if it's heads or tails and relating it to their views on the story of Hamlet as it occurs. They have a role in the original Hamlet in like Act three, and I don't know if I can articulate further without a long explanation but maybe that much will help you remember.

11. I'm sure I read it in school, too, that may be when I saw it

And we studied Shakespeare in school as well, in high school they focused on a play a year, the more famous ones like Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet, and I did take an entire year of Shakespeare in college. I know that people tend to like the comedies or the tragedies best, but I found I liked the histories. One of the most memorable summers I had was when there was a Shakespeare festival near where I was at summer camp and they actually brought us to see three of them! Richard III sticks in my mind because one of the girls who was a discipline problem was actually on the stage (it was theater-in-the-round) when the play started and almost got caught in the sword fight!

And thanks for the refresher, it's been a long time.
