Not to mention that this kind of thing stokes the insanity of those who believe "the big lie." It's been half a year and we need to shut these down as soon as they pop up or they'll never end and only serve to keep the lie going.

That makes me believe that this is a very small company. When I did consulting, Principal Consultant was a title roughly on a par with Project Manager. It was certainly not a title held by anyone in executive management.
