Missouri's GOP and evangelicals are probably a big blame as to why COVID 19 is exploding in the State of Missouri, especially in the SW portion of the state (Springfield MO is roughly at the center of this in SW Missouri). The churches of course fought for the right to still meet in person for their services (not all of them), and of course governor Parsons agreed to their demands, so death and illness is indeed walking among them. They bought it on themselves.

The SW portion of MO is very rural and has hundreds and hundreds of churches of all denominations, Mormons, Pentecostal , 7th Day Adventists, Amish, Mennonites, Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, along w/ a sprinkling of Jewish, Eastern, and Muslim congregations,

The state does have a fairly large Catholic population, but I'm fond of saying that I didn't meet my first catholic until I moved to the STLMO area in 1979 (grew up in Joplin MO). The entire state of MO except SPFD, STL, and KC is very rural, to give you a more accurate picture of this, the KC and STL areas alone have a population of 2.1 million + 2.8 million = 4.9 million out of a total population of 6.14 million, or 80% of the state's population is concentrated in these two metro areas (populations of course roughly estimated).

Quite a contrast. The concentration of populations concentrated into the cities (vs. rural areas) gets even more stark when you add the populations of Springfield, Joplin, Columbia and Rolla (college towns), and Lebanon, Missouri.

Notice I didn't mention the Branson area, since it's pretty seasonal for the most part. So in short, you have vast areas of MO where there is literally nobody there, and what little population you do have is more than likely struggling to make ends meet.

as they are frequently restricting others' freedoms because of misguided hateful beliefs.
