wonder why he took the job knowing he had memory issues. Most people in the beginning know they are having problems with their memory. Something as important as this, he should have turned the job down.

the most important of his life, and maybe the life of the country.

seems like a thing you ought to figure out by the time you retire from the marines.
but. denial aint just a river in egypt. and i suspect that as far as the investigation goes, those around him made sure it was done right.
but then he ended up being the only one to defend it.
someone close to him should have stopped that shit.

Justice matters.

The Nixon era infamous OLC opinion (that is NOT in the Constitution) DOES NOT APPLY ANY LONGER.

So, where are the taxpayers-funded Mueller probe's Grand-Jury Materials, DOJ, or House of Representatives??

8. My deeply buried instincts tell me we would find Mueller deeply compromised/co-opted
Tue Oct 12, 2021, 10:23 AM

And Bill Barr is/was all too knowing exactly the depths of Mueller's situation.

The dynamics of their long standing friendship most assuredly informed Barr the breadth and depth of how much Mueller could be co-opted willingly or unwittingly.

Using an array of angles in the tool box, be it shared Religious and Political views, along with a number of other carrots and sticks available to Barr to dangle or use as a threat.

That telephone conversation following Barr's reading of what was touted as the Mueller Report but obviously a bogus memo drafted by Barr's office which was obvious to the entire public was bogus.

Barr then felt compelled to release to the public the audio recording of their conference call intended to prove to the public that Mueller signed off on that bogus report. I'm actually surprised Adam Schiff didn't consider that moment as a blaring alarm as to Mueller's viability as a Witness.

Still, as alarming as Mueller's conversation to Barr on that recording was to me, it still didn't quite prepare me for the shockingly dismal performance at the hearing, even though my expectations were greatly lowered following that conversation.

Sadly, all indications to my eyes tell me we are not likely to see anything resembling an un-redacted report for a long time to come if ever.

Was Schiff naive? Or was he just hoping beyond hope Mueller was a principled as portrayed?

I believed in the investigation I believed he was strongly principled.

I've been shaken with the understanding that I allowed myself to be duped.

13. It's interesting though, it was Rosenstein that brought Mueller in...

However, it may be that Rosenstein knew that Barr was in play in advance of those events, and certainly matches up quite well with your theory.

Also, I'll go so far as to suggest if Barr wasn't already in play, (which I believe he certainly was) others in the DOJ knew and could control the investigation on the inside of the DOJ no matter who was brought in as the "special prosecutor".

Plenty of Trump supporters in that office as well as potential Russian moles.

I mean come on.. isn't it high time we start to get a grasp on the fact that these agencies are deeply infiltrated by Putin operators?
