Donald Trump ultimately, I don't believe, was responsible for bringing us to where we're at, the divisiveness that exists in this country. He just exploited it for his own personal gain. But if we're not going to have that conversation, we're not going engage it honestly, we're doomed to repeat the activities of January 6."

I hope we have that conversation, maybe with a Truth and Reconciliation format. Something has to give. We're just as intransigent as the other side, I'd say. At least many of us are. Healing requires movement.

I sincerely hope he heals from this tragedy that has clearly changed this man. I hope he gets lots of support for his family, too.

The horrific brutality he experienced was life-changing. He needs support to begin healing.
