VA Gov Youngkin, a mini-Trump, Issues Legally Dubious & Dangerous Executive Orders on Day 1 in Offic
After spending his entire adult life as a "private equity firm executive", multi-millionaire Glenn Youngkin spent millions funding his own political campaign, was elected and was just sworn in as governor of Virginia.
On his first day as Governor, Youngkin signed a number of executive orders, including one banning teaching students "inherently divisive concepts", and another prohibiting school districts from continuing their mask mandates for students and staff.
Problem is, Virginia schools do not teach "critical race theory" - which is what Youngkin's euphemism was designed to prohibit. Moreover, some of Virginia's largest school districts have announced they will not obey Youngkin's executor order prohibiting mask mandates because it appears to violate Virginia law. Plus, school districts are determined to protect the health of students and staff rather than act based on political demagoguery.
