Russia Tells Citizens West Will 'Open Concentration Camps' If War Is Lost - The ReidOut - MSNBC

Russia held its annual "Victory Day" parade--Russia's celebration of the Soviet Union's role in the defeat of Nazi Germany--where Vladimir Putin once again tried to justify his murderous attack on Ukraine by baselessly framing it as a continued fight against the Nazis. The military parade came as Russia is in actuality not doing well in this war. A senior U.S. Defense official tells NBC News that Russia's progress in the Donbas is "somewhat anemic." Maksym Borodin, a Mariupol, Ukraine city council member, joins Joy Reid to discuss. Aired on 05/09/2022.

Tjey were sent to camps and used as forced labor to rebuild a lot of Eastern Europe.

Those cities you see, Kyiv included, that look old and stately? They're basically new cities, built after WWII. Nothing much was left.

Oh, and all those 5 story apartment blocks? If they built anything higher than 5 stories, it had to have an elevator. So the cutoff was 5 stories.

One good thing about having some of those 5 story tower blocks gone is that future little old people won't have to lug their groceries up to a fifth floor walkup. Been there, done that, I was in my 20s and it still wiped me out.
