7. We had this in place when I was a kid.

My teacher taught us that Communism and Socialism are not the same, even though the book conflated them. He told us the government of Russia acted just like the governments of other countries, not in the people's interests, but their own. So this can be used for good if the teacher is creative and cares. I actually took this class twice due to a technicality. The 2nd time was such bullshit, the teacher never taught or even mentioned one thing not in the book. The class just went thru this with no discussion and lots of eye rolls.

Of course this was in 1970, wonder if students would catch the lies these days?
