(205,320 posts)He didn't speak out at the time - or much earlier. He said it was because he was the "circuit breaker" who would push back against TFG's dangerous and insane ideas and I can buy that. As he said, someone else, like truly insane Stephen Miller, was there at the time, pushing even more dangerous and insane ideas...

(1,327 posts)I thought that was very clear, see what you think. I think Colbert also got pissed very early on, when Esper said "I thought you were going to ask hard questions!" Stephen has always seemed extremely touchy about guests saying anything negative about his interviewing skills and so that didn't help. He's pretty transparent when he doesn't like someone.
