(51,630 posts)I know we aren't supposed to "bash Dems" but I don't see it that way...I feel that we are silently screaming for the Dems to take the offensive 100%. I know that every single Dem I know feels the same way.
I cry for the DOJ and every single Dem committee to yell it from the rooftops and immediately give 200% of their full attention on stopping this shit. No hold punches (is that he phrase?). Drag the GQP through their own swap via every and any way imaginable.

(206,072 posts)Times have sure changed, the so-called Republicans lie and cheat, do nothing for the people - and still the upcoming races are close! I know the history, that it took the Republicans to take down Nixon - and TFG is 1000 times worse, didn't just lie and cheat, but tried to take down the government! And yet these do-nothing Republicans, who are supposed to be representing their constituents, continue to go along to get along since it's all about power for them. They all need to be defeated and replaced, but I'm not holding my breath.

(9,968 posts)... FOX and their ilk try to "define" and/or "redefine" him and other Democrats they find threatening, daily. I've noticed how well Gavin Newsom redirects their efforts. Pete Buttigieg is another who refuses to be "branded" by the FOX ilk. I think Pete is too quick for them... and like how Gavin takes the offense. I do think I was wrong in my old answer to these "Folks" - don't respond because you call attention to them. Democrats need to directly counter their lies and propaganda.

(6,851 posts)Democrats who have preached patience and called for justice to be found exclusively in the voting booth have been a huge part of the perpetual problem. It encourages me greatly when I see a Democrat admit to past wrong and point toward the better path. A path toward successful methodry.
Push Republican's lies back into their faces at every turn and they'll learn to stay away from politics. A calm and stern voice may work with training dogs, but dogs aren't ruining your country with their lying and their following of faithful misfits and morons. And most dogs are more reasonable.

(36,137 posts)Sure, he comes out and demands airtime as a governor. All well and good. But he also helps add to unfair criticisms waged by media against the Democratic Party. Those criticisms are false.
The party DOES have good messaging. The party DOES know Republican red state policies and DOES say what it knows, but mainstream media want a horse race, from newspapers to television, and only produce what puts the Democrats on the back foot.
To keep the Democratic Party looking weak and in disarray is the racist christo-fascist corporate goal in America.
THEY own media. THEY determine the messaging.
I believe that Democratic messaging is fine, fact based, logical and truthful.
We can see its messaging in strong PAC ads, live panel discussions, and speeches by Democratic leaders.
We don't see it in cable news because most cable news producers a) won't give Democrats air time, and when they do, b) hosts ask irrelevant, leading questions, and c) don't solicit the party's culture war arguments.
We do not have a messaging problem. Media are our only messaging problem.
