The US has done a wonderful job of stretching its might in that region at just the wrong times. If I remember correctly, there were huge student uprisings that looked like they might achieve politely reform and then we invaded Iraq. They fear and anger towards the US renewed Iran’s solidarity and the mullah’s power. Hopefully the women in both Iran and the US will say fuck this shit and not let up.
