What if due to climate change red state Florida

gets slammed again by another colossal hurricane ?
Will the voters continue to vote for the climate change deniers, the party of fossil fuels the lying rethugs ?
Will the government continue to build the red state back each time knowing that the people are defying the very thing that is causing their destruction over and over again with more intensity and power each time?

I realize that people need help and are devastated due to these hurricanes but come on folks stop causing your own demise by voting for these lying thugs.

How about you "Don't tread on me " with your stubborn stupidity.

I’ve found that the only thing that really matters to those people are the culture wars. If you have an opportunity to talk to any of them, which I have, you’ll find that most of the neutral “kitchen table” issues such as taxation, healthcare, wages and such, they’re almost universally on board with us. It’s all the religious nonsense and acceptance of minorities of all stripes that bothers them and makes them vote Republican.

The material covered in “What’s the matter with Kansas?” is still the driving force behind the rise of fascism.

The world is not going to do anything of consequence to even meaningfully slow down let alone stop climate change.

The "Nextdoor" app is full of people that have been cancelled because their insurance company failed, but these people are intelligent enough to connect the dots. all they care about is owning the libs, the color of cartoon characters, and freedumb

Oil will end by 2052 – 30 years time

Gas will end by 2060 – 40 years time

Coal will last till 2090 – 70 years time

https://mahb.stanford.edu/library-item/fossil-fuels-run/

But, for now, climate change denial will continue, just like the Republicans who die from COVID deny that it was COVID, minutes before their death in the ICU.

We STILL haven’t rebuilt. Those ten+ years are going to hit them hard too. But we all had mandatory flood insurance. It their roofs are Ten years or greater, they can’t get flood insurance. Which makes little sense since a 12 foot storm surge has more to do with flooding and less to do with roofing. So they are screwed. Guess who else is screwed? The federal government and taxpayers. That 10 year roofing policy wasn’t an accident. It’s FLORIDA! They are hit with hurricanes all the time. I just hope they evacuated early enough to save lives. You know how they are saying it looks like a war zone. My town looked like that, too. Many areas still do. DeSantis didn’t want to help us. I wish I could say the same, but I’m a decent person, and I can’t.

We had a democratic senator as recently as 2019. Gov. DeathSentence won by a historically narrow 0.4% margin.

The state legislature is locked red because of GOP bullshit over the years, but starting to see the needle move there.

COVID's impact on our demographics will be interesting to watch in November. Don't count us Florida Dems out quite yet.

It's starting to bother me the way everyone is so quick to trash all of us. Don't get me wrong, I love a Florida Man meme as much as the rest of us, but we still need to remember that pretty much half of this state still has a lick of sense. DeathSantis only won by around 40,000 votes.

If homeowners insurance is cancelled, can people who build in areas likely to be flooded get federal help? I’m wondering if the government can regulate growth by not subsidizing development that wrecks the environment. I really have no idea. I’m poor, but I know my Republican sister decided not to get a beach house because of insurance.

18. So many questions
Fri Sep 30, 2022, 09:49 AM
Sep 2022

Why does the government give an opportunity to buy insurance even if homes are high risk? Do people in Florida even realize this is the US Government. After the Joplin tornado, my Republican brother…a doctor… a specialist, told me they don’t need the government. They have their own strength, neighbors, and FEMA. I said “Federal Emergency Management Agency,” what part of Federal do you not understand. I want to help people in Florida, but shouldn’t the government say, “No, you can’t build on wetlands?”

It would seem to make sense not to build a home in a floodplain but too many Americans like getting their way. Mother Nature, however, is immune to politics and over time, the effects of climate change will only exacerbate. At some point, things may change regarding building in high risk areas but, unfortunately, we’re not there yet.

Texass also voted no. Repukes in Kenfuckey also voted no on aid for the northeast after Sandy.
A lot of repukes wanted to ignore our problems. Yea I will not be helping Florida.
How does it go: ---- me once shame on you ---- me twice shame on me!
I live inland in the Philly region. I had 40 thousand in damage. Repukes ignored us.
