During an appearance on The View on Monday, Cruz was shown clips of himself from the 2016 race where he talked about the horrible attacks that Trump leveled against his family, and he was asked if he was lying then or if he's lying now when he says that everything is fine. Republican Senator Ted Cruz decided to go on the view on ABC yesterday, and it went about as well as you would expect. But Ted Cruz, of course, has never won to shy away from a difficult opportunity. So gotta give him a little bit of credit for having, you know, the spine to actually show up there in what he knows is a hostile environment. But things did pretty much immediately go off the rails and Ted Cruz was put back on his heels when one of the hosts on the views, uh, on the view asked him about his changing views of Donald Trump after Trump insulted pretty much every single member of Ted Cruz's family tree. What I would say is this, in 2016, we had a primary where Donald Trump and I beat the living crap out of each other. I'll tell you, Heidi laughed when he said that. My father laughed, by the way, my dad didn't just kill Kennedy. We, he's got Jimmy Hoffa buried in the backyard, it was idiotic. And we went after each other and at the end of the day, he won. And I had a decision to make in November of 2016, he'd been elected president and I got a responsibility to represent 30 million Texans. I could have decided my feelings are hurt. I'm gonna take the ball and go home and not do my job. But if I was prepared to do that, I better be prepared to resign from my job because I have a responsibility. So what I did is I, is I went and said, Listen, we have an opportunity to make a difference for this country, and I wanna roll up my sleeves and lead the fight to actually deliver on promises. We were talking a minute ago.

Okay, So lots to unpack there, right? First and foremost is the whole thing like, well, Heidi laughed it off. We just had a great big chuckle about my opponent talking about how hideous she is, right? What wife wouldn't laugh at that? Okay. I don't believe you, Ted. I truly, honestly, 100% with all of my heart, do not believe that Heidi Cruz just laughed it off like. Oh, Donald, that didn't happen. And you can't convince me that it did. But as to the response as a whole, and I'm gonna get more into a nitpicking it in just a second, I do think it was very rehearsed, right? Ted Cruz knew this question was gonna come up eventually at some point, you know, ever since he did the flip flop. Um, but he's also lying about everything he said. Again, getting more to that in just a moment.
