Biden APPEALS Orders from Right-Wing Federal Courts BLOCKING Student Debt Cancellation Program



The Biden Administration has filed a Motion to Stay the enforcement of an Order by a Trump-appointed Judge declaring the Biden Student Debt Cancellation Program unconstitutional. In the filing, the Biden Administration also stated it would be appealing the injunction from the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals blocking the program to the Supreme Court. - Meidas Touch.

And whether hardships related to a national emergency have resulted.

Such that forgiveness of student debt is justified pursuant to the statute authorizing such forgiveness.

Does anybody think that the SCOTUS conservative majority will so hold?

I don't.

However, sufficient support might be found among the Republican majority in the House to bring about this relief legislatively.

After all, the political benefit of such relief, if any was had, has already been had by the Democrats by the mere prospect of it being accomplished administratively.

In other words, the House Republicans really don't have that much to lose by voting for it.

(Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi being one) have stated in the past that the President cannot cancel student debt without an act of congress the better.

It is NOT that debt forgiveness is not a good policy, it is just how you do it.
