(16,887 posts)I can only imagine the pain and harm that she felt growing up with such a man as BTK as her father (maybe even abused herself) and knowing the harm he caused others. You can tell she has had to do a lot of work and knows that he can continue to harm.
In my opinion, criminology programs like the one that the accused Idaho Killer was enrolled in should be operated very carefully and under supervision and psychological screening of its students before enrollment and throughout the program. I actually think that there is a danger that these programs could be dangerous breeding grounds for serial killers trying to commit the perfect crime.
I remember a time where these kind of studies of criminal minds and crimes were only conducted within law enforcement programs (ie FBI) and there was no such thing as getting a Masters or Doctoral degree in it. In Germany for example, such studies may be available as individual courses as electives to law students etc but not as degrees.
I believe that the accused Idaho Killer should have been screened and that he was quite literally learning in order to perfect a crime. I also hope law enforcement is looking into the last decade of his life. My money is on that this was not his first killing.
