Poland will be the top European military power and Ukraine will be the top economic power. I can believe it on both counts.

As for Russia, they will be lucky to hold their whole country together. They're pretty much finished as a world power, at least in the short term, because the squandering of their treasury, military, and a couple of generations of men will cripple them economically for decades to come. Add to that the fact that there will be minimal trade with a country that has proven itself untrustworthy, and I don't see them recovering in a significant manner until all the old Soviets are dead and long buried and one hopes a more enlightened bunch manages to take over. I am not optimistic about this because of how quickly Putin was able to make a U-turn back into dictatorship.

I do know the invasion of Ukraine was a huge wakeup call for Poland. It has to be etched into everyone's memory what happened in 1939, that the Polish army met German Panzers with horse drawn cannons. I doubt they will ever repeat that.

The picture above is from WWII and shows Nazi German troops riding on horseback. An excerpt from the link below:

In the first mechanized war, the German Army found itself relying heavily on the horse. Horse-drawn Artillery, supply wagons, and Cavalry were widely used. It is estimated that the Germans took almost 2.75 million horses into battle, nearly twice what they used in World War I. Yet very little has been written about these units. This area of German military history is, by far, the most overlooked aspect of the war.

The whole "Polish troops used horses" meme was and is meant to demean the Poles. While Poland did use horses, they also had mechanized military equipment. As it is, the Poles were fantastic horsemen through the ages. Their Winged Husaria horsemen from the past are, to this day, spoken of with fear and respect in some of the countries the Poles battled. The whole WWII meme is meant to tarnish this image of the great Husaria warriors. Many countries during WWII used horses.

Poland was fighting and would have held on much longer against the Nazi juggernaut. But, the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact screwed them over. Once Stalin invaded from the east on September 17, 1939, the Poles realized that this particular battle was over. They salvaged what they could of their army and government and fought in exile until the end of WWII.

anyone to tell them about the Russian threat to their country or Europe as a whole. Poland was sounding the warning bells for years and what did the so-called western Europeans do? They laughed, ridiculed and attempted to stigmatize the Poles as they have condescended toward the so-called eastern Europeans and Slavic groups in general for hundreds of years.

Well who's laughing now? My hat is off and kudos to Poland. You tried to warn them but they wouldn't listen due to their own, dare I say, arrogance and bigotry.

Slava Polska!!! Slava Ukraini!!! Heroyam Slava!!

It is too bad people have to spend resources on this sort of thing but as long as there are putins, it’s necessary.

Also, re the section of the map where they show the arrows of aggressors coming into Poland, I recall a night class I had where there were 5 adult students from Poland. I recall how they talked about all the invasions of their country and how resentful they were.
