(16,246 posts)They see whats going on In Ukraine n must know Putin has his sights on them, too. Would they fall in line or would they prepare to resist? It was pretty much expected that Putin would not stop w/ Ukraine so they must have some idea of what they are gonna do? Somehow..someway, Putin needs stopped or these battle fields will be much bigger n more countries turned to rubble

(19,962 posts)believe the vast majority know what's what. The bigger picture though is all western societies need to put a much bigger effort into educating people on how democracy works and the mechanism totalitarian regimes regimes use to undermine our society.

The truth is that Latvia vastly increased its GDP after liberation. What they need to do is make sure that increase gets outside Riga and its suburbs so that everybody sees a real benefit from it. That's a challenge in all first world countries, it's easy enough to create wealth, it's harder to figure out how to distribute it, especially to the people who allow us all to eat.
I feel sorry that this lady has lost friends to Putin's red hat club. We've all lost friends that way.
