Back in 2019 I went to court because I had forgotten to mail the fine. This was a town court that is notorious for issuing tickets. They are located in a large county and a judge from the County Circuit Court comes in and hears the cases. It became very clear to me that the majority of the citations were issued to minorities. The judge clearly noticed this as well as he reduced many of the charges as well as fines. When my time came I pleaded guilty and explained what had happened. The judge looked at my driving record and said that I had a perfect record with no points or tickets in 15 years and he wasn't going to ruin my record or cause me financial pain and he reduced my charge. This judge clearly did not like how this town issues its tickets.
