3. Not excusing the atrocious behavior by the officers...

and probably unpopular for me to say.......

But throughout the video, he did not comply even after being pepper sprayed and tasered. It looked like he was fighting back.

I would bet that if he had complied at the very beginning when he was removed from the vehicle, he would be alive today...

that is my opinion.

Use of Force Continuum and never gave him an opportunity to comply with their commands. Proper application would have been for the officers to initiate the contact with Mr. Nichols solely utilizing verbal commands and allowing reasonable time for a response from the subject. Based on that response, they could then either continue the verbal interaction or assess whether some physical contact is necessary. Unfortunately, they ignored any such protocols and immediately became physically aggressive. These punks had an attitude and were looking to jack someone up that evening. His fate was somewhat sealed even before they yanked open his car door. Beyond sickening and heart breaking.
