Ted Cruz Refuses To Apology For Spreading Pelosi Conspiracies - Ring of Fire

Republican senator Ted Cruz was one of the many conservatives that was helping to spread conspiracy theories about the attack on Paul Pelosi shortly after it happened last year, and now that the truth has come out Cruz is refusing to actually apologize for what he said several months ago. Instead, when given the chance to apologize, Cruz instead said that the attack was "utterly unacceptable" - a few months ago he had shared a tweet saying that the attack was definitely NOT a right winger. It doesn't matter how many times the truth smacks Republicans in the face, they will never apologize for their lies, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

Last Friday, of course, we got the, uh, footage of the attack on Nancy Pelosi's husband, Paul Pelosi that took place several months ago, right before the 2022 midterm elections. Uh, the footage, if you have not seen it, I'm not going to show it here again, it came out, you know, days ago at this point, uh, it's very graphic, it's very brutal, and it's very honest. And I describe it as honest, because when you watch that footage, and of course you listen to the interrogation of dpe, you know where he says, I, I, I wish I would've gotten more of these liberals, you know, going after liberals proving all of the conservative conspiracy theories incorrect. That's what I mean when I say that this footage was honest. Unfortunately, Republicans are not honest, and many of them were pushing conspiracy theories immediately after the attack. You know, we heard 'em all like, oh, it was his lover and things went sideways, or, oh, it was a drug deal gone bad.

Ted Cruz was one of the individuals who pushed on Twitter, a conspiracy theory about the attack, uh, right after it happened. Pretty much his conspiracy theory granted was not as farfetched as some of those other ones. But Ted Cruz retweeted saying, only truth, the word truth to this tweet. No one will ever know what happened in the attack, but it was not right wing violence. So Cruz saw that somebody else had tweeted that he retweets it and says, truth. Yeah, it was right wing violence, Ted, a hundred percent, like literally no other way to slice it. The guy even told us, Hey, I'm a right-winger. I wanted to hurt left-wingers. This is right wing violence, and I wish I could have done more. So you would think now that Ted Cruz has that benefit of hindsight, he has the benefit of watching that video. He has the benefit of seeing and hearing DPA's, uh, testimony, and he still won't apologize. Um, TMZ actually caught up with Ted Cruz and they asked him point blank like, Hey, do you wanna apologize for pushing this conspiracy theory after the attack? And instead, Ted Cruz simply said, uh, um, that it was utterly unacceptable. And then he labeled Depe a deranged lunatic. The day it happened, I said, it was a horrific violent attack in my prayers or were with the Pelosi family. They remained with the family.

Cool. You also said it was not right wing violence. You said that that was the truth. It's the opposite of truth. It was a lie. You

Were, were just given the opportunity by that reporter to address the lie and say, oopsie, do. Sorry folks. I was wrong. This guy's a lunatic. He's a nut job. We don't want it in my party, but I guess he was in my party and I want him out. I'm sorry. That's it. That's all Ted Cruz had to do. That's all Elon Musk had to do. That's all any of these other idiot right-wingers had to do when the issue would've been over, none of them did it, because it doesn't matter to them. What matters is the damage they can cause in those immediate moments following something horrendous like this happening, they spread the conspiracy theories and they moved on. So months later, when the truth finally comes out, shows that all of these Republicans are idiot a-holes. They don't care.

We are all collateral damage.

Killing their colleagues at work is not a problem for them either.
