Related: About this forumTrump demands immediate release of insurrectionists. Is he giving aid & comfort to the insurrection?
Trump's recklessness knows no bounds. He's now calling for the members of the January 6 House select committee to be arrested for treason, and he is demanding the immediate release of all insurrectionists who have been indicted and/or convicted of attacking the US Capitol on January 6.
The federal law criminalizes not only engaging in rebellion or insurrection, but also outlaws "giving aid and comfort" to the insurrection. Do Trump's release demands constitute giving aid and comfort to the insurrectionists? - Glenn Kirschner - 03/10/2023.

(4,522 posts)they have been saying they won't vote for anyone who won't indict members of congress and release and pardon the prisoners. Looks like he finally got the message. Expect that to be the gold standard for a GOP candidate this term.

(8,843 posts)if he was installed again as President would be countless destruction of many people, just for spite and his psychotic driven mentality.
Not unlike many of the classic Tyrants currently or in the horrific past........
He is the epitome of a psychotic narcissist, a psychopath, a woman hater, a rapist, and a pathological liar.........

(12,873 posts)So what does that say about the tens of millions of American citizens who voted for him twice and would do so again?

(205,682 posts)Same with the current RW members of Congress. They are supposedly elected to help their constituents, but instead have their own agenda which consists of "owning" the opposition and seeking money and power. Yet these deluded followers continue to vote for them - and I'm including my own New York district - we have Stefanik.

(205,682 posts)And I have no idea how Stefanik manages to get reelected, she replaced a moderate Democrat who retired and I went to the meetup when he introduced his chosen successor and was impressed, made GOTV calls for him. There have been protests since she took office, but she's not only ignored and avoided them, she's gone full TFG. There was a local Republican gathering on election night in November and I was told that she took the opportunity to endorse him for 2024...
And after she made an idiot of herself on national TV alongside Gym Jordan during the impeachment hearings, these billboards went up in the district, I used to pass this one on my way home:

(22,117 posts)I guess he never could be bothered to study the actual definition of treason and insurrection either. He is, indeed, guilty of both, and revels in it.

(205,682 posts)His father (and his money) always bailed him out of scrapes, so he believes it, that's why he made that infamous crack about shooting someone on Fifth Avenue.

(4,274 posts)and the Orange Ruski appears to be is to give the next round of insurrectionists the idea that what was done previously was perfectly alright. Enlisting the aid of their usual media apologists to help it along.
Rhiannon12866
(205,682 posts)And those are the ones he's counting on for "support." Though it boggles the mind that he has the effrontery to run to lead a government that he attempted to overthrow.
