Oxycontin Production Increases 1,200 Percent: Oxycontin Good, Marijuana Bad?

While the American media frets over attempting to figure out how two states will deal with the legalization of a plant, the fact that Oxycontin production has increased by 1,200 percent since it began being manufactured in 1997 has seemingly gone unnoticed, despite countless addictions and overdose deaths associated with the drug.

agencies that want the money too. This is what happens to a society wherein $$$$$ is the basis for all decisions rather than doing what's right. As soon as big pharma gets a handle on all of this pot will be available with prescription at your local drugstore so big pharma and the medical cartel can share in the $$$$$ for pot. Frankly, often none in the US give a SH** about anything but $$$$$. And of course the US is not alone ...

I have a couple of family members that are really addicted to those pills, it scares me how they act when they dont have them or when they try to sell them for money. I didnt even notice how serious this was worldwide in America till I seen Sanjay Gupta on tv. My cousins wife was snorting them and they found her not breathing with blood spilling from her nose, she was on addicted for several years. I was told she died from a aneurysm. Im 24 years old, my experience with marijuana has never been personally responsible for creating such a mess like oxycontin. Oxycontins destroys family to max its a terrible terrible percocet for pain, and all you have to do is know a doctor tell them you have terrible back pain and your allergic to aspirin and bam you got a prescription.

Seriously. A 28 day supply of 80 mg. Oxycontin is almost $1,000 at Walgreens. How can people afford it--much less on the street?

How much do you think one pill gets on the black market? More than $17.85? This is a gold mine for Docs ,Pharma, and black market sellers.

But, I'd like to see the marijuana as another option. It's not all or nothing. Some people respond to certain things better than others. Many pain specialists use a few different kinds of meds that work in different ways to help the pain so that the dose doesn't need to be increased as much. Doctors also often rotate narcotics and they usually lower the doses when they do that and it does usually help the side effects.
