(205,927 posts)And when they repeated it, I left it on for the second time, he really did a great job - and pushed some boundaries last night. He seemed to be really enjoying himself. This was my favorite:

See... people should be wary of messing with Joe Biden!
And I did find that MTG & Fox clips too -

(205,927 posts)I posted a couple of live video feeds last night for those that don't have cable or TV, PBS NewsHour and NowThis News - but then someone complained that it was over, so I found that C-Span, where I watched it on TV, was repeating it, so I posted that. But I'm sure that there are still plenty who missed it, or couldn't stay up - and I'm sure you noticed that The Correspondents' Dinner, and Joe Biden specifically, is all anyone wants to talk about. And his performance sure can't have hurt his ratings!

(129,405 posts)is that sometimes there is a long lead time before something happens, but they are good since so many here on DU have "cut the cord" so don't really have a place to go to watch it unless they really search for it and/or someone like you posts it!
Was glad to find an edited one that just had his part.
He is in "campaign mode" so this was a perfect venue to roll that campaigning out!

(205,927 posts)Also someone who couldn't stay up. And you're right, the timing was perfect - and he even joked about it. As was said on another thread, what a relief to have a president again with a sense of humor!

(129,405 posts)Still a classic!

(205,927 posts)When I turned 21, my parents got me television for my birthday. And, back then, I was completely blown away. Nobody had a TV! It was a small portable, black and white, but I was thrilled! So my senior year in college I could actually watch TV - the soaps, the Untouchables in syndication - and the local news! The anchor for the local Utica station was Donna Hanover, and I thought she was very good - and quite pretty. So you can imagine my surprise when I learned, years later, that she married to Rudy Giuliani!

(129,405 posts)The multi-wife Ghouliani saga is a soap opera in itself! Especially when he was flaunting his mistress in Gracie Mansion while still married.
Since we are "relatively" close to NYC here, I have listened to NYC AM radio stations for years, through Koch and then Dinkins, when Ghoul made his "terrorist debut", and eventually became mayor himself.
I remember listening to Bob Grant, Curtis Sliwa and yes, even both Limballs & Hannity's debuts there on WABC.

(4,292 posts)I would love to find a transcript of speech, but especially the toast he made at the end: Let us commit to choosing light over darkness, truth over lies, and restore the soul of the nation.

(16,789 posts)A powerful film indeed as I cried through much of the scenes of the open casket funeral.
Joe was indeed on fire. The MTG comment was spot on. Let her stew because it is the truth.

(16,189 posts)That was an excellent way to tie together unsung (and ignored or suppressed) black history with the nature of the correspondents dinner.

(16,789 posts)In involving the NAACP in this. The Black Press at that time was pivotal in making sure what happened did not go unnoticed.
The rest is history.
