The repugs have never been able to govern or shown themselves responsible for improving the welfare of the people of this country. They do know how to improve their own bank balances.

(22,156 posts)IMHO, any candidate that wants to defund a group such as the FBI or the Police or any other agency has a secret agenda, to hide their own wrong doing. Just like tRUMP is doing.

Apparently someone was hired to puff up his wikipedia page and admitted that it might have been in error.
This person, the purported candidate, is another example of self-aggrandizement which seems to go along with the party and the type of personality.

(15,328 posts)you'll see several additional links under the main subject line: Article, Talk, Read, Edit, View history.
For controversial or active topics, the Talk and View history links can be illuminating as the various editors/authors go back and forth updating or commenting on updates.
Puff pieces like this are generally ignored but when it becomes a public figure with some 'issues', these pages can be more interesting.

(1,454 posts)No one walks into the FBI, fills out an applications and gets hired on the spot. It takes about 7 or so years to become an agent. All agents must have at least a bachelor's degree (and graduate degrees are prized) and two-three years of professional work experience in a related field of law or law enforcement or have a military (officers) bakcground. The average age of an agent at entry is 44. The mandated retirement age is 57.
Hardly counts as "ossified" by any stretch. Maybe that's the word of the day on his calendar.
And, yes there will always be the shadow of J. Edgar looming above the agency. But NO ONE who served under Hoover is still there. And the agency had made signifigant changes in hiring since those days. Women, minorities and those who speak multiple languages are still in strong demand.
This guy is talking out of an oriface other than his mouth.

(13,544 posts)like he knows much about the FBI. I looked it up and someone can be as young as 23, but they must have to go through a lot more training once they are in. I dont see how they would have two to three years of professional work experience in law or law enforcement at 23. I looked it up and it does say that its a requirement.
