During a hearing this past week in the United States Senate Republican Senator John Kennedy from the state of Louisiana went on an absolutely disgusting and pretty racist rant against not just Mexico, but obviously the citizens of Mexico as well, implying that if it were not for the United States, they would somehow resort to being savages. Clearly you're not aware of the role that the United States has obviously played for many, many decades in the, uh, formation, I guess you would call it, of the cartels. Clearly, you're not familiar with the fact that the United States military did attempt to go down to Columbia to stop their drug war, and, uh, we didn't win that one. But you're also apparently unfamiliar with the US intervention foreign policies of the last 75 years.

Like I can forgive you for not understanding that the United States played a role in the creation of the cartels, and you're not aware of the other countries. The US has effectively sent the military in to stop 'em and, and failed miserably. But even beyond that, like where else have we sent the US military in the last 75 years, where everybody after we left was like, whoo, I'm glad they were here. Right? I'm not trashing the troops at all. It's not the troops fault, but it is the policy of the United States military, this interventionalist policy that has failed spectacularly again, pretty much after World War II and up to this day.

Like, we suck at this, not because the troops are bad, not because we don't have the best weapons, but because our policy and our strategies are pure trash. And I have no reason to believe that doing that down there in Mexico wouldn't end up any differently.
