Boebert Busted Pushing Immigration Conspiracy That Was Debunked 17 Years Ago - Farron Balanced

No one has ever accused Lauren Boebert of being a genius, and she continues to show us all the time why that label will never be applied to her. This past week, as she's been reeling from the theater scandal, Boebert attempted to shift the conversation to immigration by falsely claiming that immigrants were coming to America and getting free healthcare and tons of free cash. This is actually a conspiracy theory pushed - and debunked - more than 17 years ago, but Boebert revived it to deflect from her problems. Farron Cousins explains what happened.

Now, I don't think anybody has ever accused Lauren Bobert of being a genius, and that's kind of putting it nicely. Um, but this past week while she was trying to deflect the attention away from her Beetlejuice, uh, theatrics, Lauren Bobert got on social media and posted a decades old debunked conspiracy theory to try to shift people's anger that's directed at her, towards immigrants coming into the United States. Here's what Lauren Bobert posted on social media. Biden is giving each illegal family $2,200 per month plus a free plane ticket and free medical care. If you come to this country illegally, you get everything handed to you on a silver platter. If you're a struggling American citizen, you get nothing. You actually just subsidize this foolishness.

That conspiracy theory has actually been floating around online according to experts for at least 17 years. And it actually originally started as a conspiracy theory about Canada. It started online, you know, through blogs and, you know, people posting on rudimentary social media back then that um, if you go to Canada, they give you free plane tickets, free medical care, and like $3,500 cash. It wasn't true then. And then, you know, once Obama took over, they flipped the conspiracy theory like, no, no, no, it's not Canada anymore. Now it's the United States. We're just giving people thousands of dollars to come here. You get a free plane ticket anywhere in the continental United States or contiguous United States. And uh, yeah, like totally cool, you get tons of money, free healthcare, all this wonderful stuff. And it was debunked back then. So it's been debunked, debunk, debunked for almost two straight decades.

And then Lauren Bobert seeking any kind of distraction from her handsy, uh, theater experience, it was like, oh, here's a thing. Like she just made it up because these aren't even the original numbers in the original conspiracy theory. Like she kinda lowered the amount a little bit. Like, oh, they're getting 2200 and free plane tickets, free healthcare. And again, for several decades this has now been debunked here in the United States. And this is part of the big problem we have in American politics today. Lauren Bobert is a sitting member of Congress, okay? She knows this isn't true. And if she doesn't know that it's not true, then she is far too stupid to serve in Congress. Like she's too stupid to operate a car if she honestly believes this, because in Congress she should know better. But the problem is that as dumb as Bobert is, her followers, her supporters are even dumber. So people looked at this and

They, they believed it. Like you can go through the comments. People are like, oh my God, this is ridiculous. How can we do this? But I gotta tell you what bothers me even more than that is the fact that she says, you know, if you're a struggling American citizen, you get nothing. She's not wrong about that. And do you know why? Struggling American citizens get nothing because of people like Lauren Bobert. What has Lauren Bobert done that has given a struggling American family? Anything in the United States right now, her party in the House of Representatives has actually put out a budget blueprint that cuts Social security, Medicare, Medicaid, and the federal food stamp program. So she's like struggling. Americans get nothing. Oh, by the way, I'm gonna make sure struggling Americans get nothing, right? Like everybody kind of overlooks that part. 'cause she's trying to say that, oh, we're giving these immigrants everything and we're giving our constituents nothing. You are giving your constituents nothing. So if you want Americans to have $2,200 a month and a one free plane ticket plus free healthcare, I'm all for it. I think we should do that. But you don't get to whine and complained that we're allegedly doing this to illegal immigrants, which were not. And then say American people, you should be outraged that you get nothing when you are the one giving us nothing.

I think it is prudent to assume that everything she says is a lie
