My friend made this video based on an art installation of another dear friend. It is about the loss of her brother during the holocaust. My friend happened to post this on Youtube yesterday just before the deaths in Connecticut. It is a memorial to all lost children today.

Nothing can replace the experience of wandering in this installation by Rose Borchovski: every sense is at its higher level, discovering some other new ways to tell a story, still with so much poetry and symbolism. A must see in Second Life®.
Despite that, I dared to make a machinima...
"A story about Angry Beth and Lot
Lot turned eight, the sun did shine and all were happy.
But then the war came and all did change.
A harsh hand ruled the world of Beth and Lot.
They were forced to leave.
They were separated from each other.
They were made the enemy.
The war was bitter and long.
After the war, Beth returned.
The child Lot had disappeared;
no one knows where she went.
Beth keeps searching for Lot.
On good days, Beth is able to imagine Lot is flying like a bird
with her face towards the sky,
searching for the stars.
On bad days, Beth can only be angry about her loss.
Beth's wounds will never heal."

(28,979 posts)She says her mother was always distant and distracted. This is the story Rose uncovered. She had an older brother. Who was lost. And her mother never recovered.
Rose is an incredibly talented woman. In real life, she makes multimedia installations in old chateaus and manor houses that animate the interiors with 100s of videoprojectors recreating specific days in history. Just really extraordinary stuff.
Her sets in Second Life are utterly unique to experience.

(28,979 posts)I would expect it to be disturbing. Her mother and older brother were sent to Auschwitz. Only her mother survived. Rose was born after the war. This is the story of the loss of both her mother and her brother as her mother was never the same again. She became Angry Beth.
Iono the machinima maker uploaded the video without knowing what was transpiring in America. He was surprised at my reaction to the video. To me, it suddenly represented all the lost children and their families. In Germany. In the Middle East. In the USA.
So yes, it is disturbing. But great art is like that. It lingers with you. Haunts you long afterwards.
