He’s better than everyone else. He has bought into his own imaginary exceptionalism that anyone dare to oppose or challenge him, it’s his right to destroy it as he sees fit. The money and power, which was ill gotten, only made him more dangerous.

Due to her poor health. But she then gave birth to both Donald and his younger brother, so wasn't there in his earliest years because she was often hospitalized. The only caretaker was his eldest sister who was only a child herself - and his father had no interest in young children. Defrauding banks, insurance companies, state and country taxpayers along with stiffing workers and contractors.

His first failures were the casinos - even though his father sent his driver to buy $3 million in chips - which did not help. And his father was fined for not having a gaming license. He was so desperate for money that he attempted to disinherit his siblings - until his mother found out. And he ended up selling his father's lucrative business at a loss because he was so desperate for money, he never had enough. Mary Trump talks about this in her book.
