The vast majority of actors and actresses in this video have glorified or made light of gun violence and death, using the very craft that has given them their popularity. Why anyone feels that they should emulate an actor is beyond me.

for them to ask for gun control because they act in films and shows which are a reaction to our culture of ignorance and violence?

I know and they know the difference between make-believe and reality. Do you? Your claim of hypocritical behavior falls flat.

On gun control policies. They are gun purists after all and the only people with the moral authority to speak.

I'm sure there's some reason why my and your opinions aren't as pure as the NRA's.

I played Duck Hunt on Nintendo during my younger days. I think that precludes me from having an opinion about gun violence.

Gun-owners need to think of some plan other than more guns and threats about 1776 or just shooting first.

"A plan" leaves the gun lobby a lot of room for creativity.

Let's get some contributions from those who want to keep their guns toward solving the problem.

The time for temper tantrums has passed.

More guns and threats have not solved this problem. Ideas please???

Celebrities have the right to speak their minds like the rest of us. They just want to give back to their community. You have no idea what most celebrities were like growing up, and most of them came from very humble, that is keyword, HUMBLE beginnings and growing up.

How about world-wide gun control?

No automatic weapons anywhere. No nukes. Nothing that can kill more than one person without reloading.

That would make good sense.

By the way, did they mention the terrible number of lives lost due to the British, French and German empires around the world.

What I have been wondering is where was the gun lobby when Occupy Wall Street was claiming the right to speak and assemble without regulation?

Remember how the Occupy free speech and assembly advocates were prohibited at gunpoint from exercising their rights?

Where were all these gun rights advocates back then?

Where were they?

I'm not asking why they didn't show up with guns. Occupy was about speech, and guns could have been dangerous with so many people in small spaces. But I do wonder why they didn't defend the rights of the Occupiers to free speech.

Let's remember the language that guarantees these rights:

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/preamble

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/first_amendment

Compare:

Amendment II

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/second_amendment

When the right of one person to a gun infringes on the right of another person to justice, tranquility and liberty and the right of the nation to domestic tranquility, something has to change. It may not be gun laws. It may be something else. The nation is waiting for some sensitive, intelligent response from the gun lobby other than "more guns."

This video is fine, but the children of Sandy Hook deserve a response that speaks to gun abuse.

If someone ties up traffic or makes a lot of noise or messes up a public space exercising their right to free speech, the damage is slight and easily cleaned up.

But if someone exercises their right to bear arms in a crowded theater, a mall or a classroom, the damage cannot ever be remedied.

Gun advocates need to lead the way on finding solutions.

The more gun advocates show anger, the less confidence the rest of the country has in their ability to handle their guns responsibly.

> Where were all these gun rights advocates back then?

Didn't you know? Gunz are to defend the Constitution, but just when the NRA orders the Mighty Warriors Of The 2nd Amendment into (rhetorical) battle.

The only part of the Constitution the NRA cares about is the "2A Amendment", which is: "The right for gun makers to sell as much product as they can to the scared cowards of America shall not be infringed"

It is a problem, especially among gun nuts, who have all kinds of paranoid delusions about the nature of reality.
