According to the New Testament the Apostle Peter used a sword which to cut off the ear of the high priest's servant at the time of Jesus' arrest in Gethsemane.

A sword is an extremely lethal close range weapon in skilled hands. Movies rarely show the damage that a sword can inflict and perhaps that is very positive. A short sword such as the Roman gladius could remove your head or arm with a single swipe.

Gladii were two-edged for cutting and had a tapered point for stabbing during thrusting. A solid grip was provided by a knobbed hilt added on, possibly with ridges for the fingers. Blade strength was achieved by welding together strips, in which case the sword had a channel down the center, or by fashioning a single piece of high-carbon steel, rhomboidal in cross-section. The owner's name was often engraved or punched on the blade.

The hilt of a Roman sword was the capulus. It was often ornate, especially the sword-hilts of officers and dignitaries.

Stabbing was a very efficient technique, as stabbing wounds, especially in the abdominal area, were almost always deadly (see the quotation from Vegetius under pugio). However, the gladius in some circumstances was used for cutting or slashing, as is indicated by Livy's account of the Macedonian Wars, wherein the Macedonian soldiers were horrified to see dismembered bodies.[16]

is when some k-head calls himself being glib and quotes the wrong thing and doesn't get it that one is law and the other is an historical document.

Good job on this guy for pointing that out; however, I will not be visiting dude's channel because if he can't get that one thing straight, there is no point in wasting my time on someone who's clearly never been to a civics class and gets all his info from glen beck.

the ass. And then face the consequences. I have the G*d given right to not own firearms and I don't own one. I owned a single shot shotgun years ago for a couple of years I used to go out and fire in the general direction of pheasants never ever hitting one. And I owned a CO2 pistol for many years my daughters and I used for target plinking and teaching general gun safety - don't point at animals and humans or human shaped targets, never hand over a loaded weapon etc. The girls played cowboy with cork guns and I'd disarm them as soon as they aimed at each other or anybody else. Weapons are tools and we don't use most tools on other humans.

They became a teacher and an archeologist and the choose to follow their G*d given right to not own firearms.
