Harry Reid Is Not A Wimp - He Stood Up To Progressives To Kill Filibuster Reform

1. Yep, God forbid anything Progressive should pass the Senate with just 51 votes!

Of course we all know that Harry wasn't alone on this. The Conservadems have to GO!

2. Democrats save their worse insults and fights to use against their base.

Remember Rahm's insults to progressives? And Rahm is the darling of right in Chicago with his Union busting tactics. Obama made a point of naming himself a RepubliCON in a recent interview. Clinton repealed Glass Steigel, putting banksters in charge of our economy while "reforming" welfare.

And now Reid has made it impossible to pass anything that really is progressive for the next 2 years. He campaigned on filibuster reform and then didn't do it. Will he run again on filibuster reform? It seems to get Union members out to campaign for him.

Democrats in power govern like conservatives. while RepubliCONS in power govern like crazy conservatives.

3. I wonder if this setup is by design now...

Perhaps the corporate 1% realize that the draw of the crazies of the Republican party combined with their 1% base is too small to carry elections any more, so they realize they need to grab a big chunk of the Democratic Party and "keep control" of it in stealth mode to try to make people feel like they're "getting change" from the party that traditionally has put in place the kind of change that most Americans want now, when in fact the corporatists like Reid and other DINOs are controlling things.

I think it is time RIGHT NOW, that we make the Democratic Party primary of 2014 be the BIG election that progressives campaign in, to defend strongly those that we see as progressives, and to find replacements for the DINOs that are part of the 1% destruction of this country.

For starters in the Senate, we need to focus on the following races from wikipedia page here:

Arkansas - Primary Mark Prior (a DINO traitor) with a good progressive contender.
Hawaii - Should we be supporting Brian Schatz (replacing Inouye) or Colleen Hanubasa, who might challenge him then.
Illinois - Help defend Richard Durbin against primarying, who's currently leading the fight to keep H-1B cap increases from happening that steal our jobs.
Iowa - make SURE we get a decent progressive candidate to replace Tom Harkin.
Louisiana - primary Mary Landrieu? (a DINO in many cases).
Michigan - Primary Carl Levin who lead the screw job that messed up our filibuster.
Montana - Primary Max Baucus (a DINO traitor) with a good progressive contender.
New Jersey - should we support Lautenberg or Cory Booker? That looks to be a primary fight brewing.
New Mexico - Strongly defend Tom Udall against any corporatist contenders that might come against him.
Oregon - Strongly defend Jeff Merkley against any corporatist contenders that might come against him.
Rhode Island - Primary Jack Reed for holding out and messing up our filibuster.

I think that if we're going to make these real possibilities of changing the old guard in the Senate, we really need to start organizing this effort now, as we can't wait until the last minute to expect anything positive to happen.

I don't want to hear a goddamn word from you about GOP obstruction in the Senate for the next two years. You had your chance to reform the filibuster, and you refused to do so, nor did you publicly call out the names of the members of your caucus who refused to go along with serious filibuster reform.

Compromise and capitulation are two entirely different concepts. You made your bed. Lay in it and get comfy.

I suppose I should be cheering the progress being made on immigration reform, but I am well aware that it's only because the GOP has finally read the writing on the wall and realize they are about to die a demographic death, so in essence, immigration reform is a lifeline to the GOP. We are operating on the GOP agenda, and I, for one, am NOT pleased...

5. I think the old democratic Southern Caucus

has been replaced with the Corporatist Caucus. The problem is, how do we get more liberal politicians elected in red states?

6. Respond with an "anti" corporatist caucus...

There are many Republicans, as much as we might hate a lot of other things they espouse, that likely hate the banksters and the other corporatists. The problem is that they aren't well informed about these issues as their media keeps this information from them and focuses on the social issues that they alienate them from the rest of America with to draw them in.

We should start another caucus that isn't so focused just on progressive causes, but on those that we can all agree on, and see if we can appeal to independents, and some Republicans with that. When they start to realize that we have corporatists in both parties that are running the show and manipulating the hell out of us, they will realize that to level the playing field so that we can have a healthy democracy to help us decide other issues, etc. that we need to get the corporatist control of them out of the picture.

This is a tricky battle to fight, but I think there are issues here and there like taxation policy, accountability for corporate wrongdoing, etc. where we can get a lot more agreement on.
