Related: About this forumThom Hartmann: The Question No One is Asking about Keystone XL
Right now in Texas, a foreign corporation, TransCanada, is using our government's 5th Amendment right of eminent domain to confiscate private land belonging to Americans, to build a massive oil pipeline so TransCanada can ship oil from the Gulf of Mexico to non-Americans around the world. Oil, by the way, that will accelerate our planets plunge into global warming-induced catastrophe. So the question is, Why?

(10,751 posts)1. Great points!
Very telling indeed that our media NEVER points out we are allowing a foreign corporation to use eminent domain laws in our country to push through this dirty deal.
Also very telling, as Thom points out at the end, that our media very rarely discuss the many success stories in renewable energy, both in Europe and right here in the US.

(10,745 posts)2. Indeed, the polluters have been lying about renewable energy.....
over and over again, like "it will destroy the economy!", and "it's too expensive!", etc.....(although, unfortunately, some of our resident "doomers" have sadly bought into some of these mantras). It's getting annoying.
Reccing & booking this for later. Toodles.

who owns most lawmakers (using a tiny portion of their yearly "subsidies" and loopholes to do so).
