(17,087 posts)Ferengi culture is so devoted to unregulated capitalism that concepts such as labor unions, sick leave, vacations, or paid overtime for workers are considered abhorrent, because they would interfere with the exploitation of workers. Ferengi workers don't particularly mind this system, because they all want to eventually gather enough wealth to become employers themselves, exploiting their own workers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferengi

(34,137 posts)In 2268, Harry Mudd, who became stranded on the planet which he named after himself, sent Norman to capture a Federation starship so that he could leave the planet in exchange for the vessel's crew.
Norman left the planet and, posing as a Starfleet sciences division lieutenant, signed aboard the USS Enterprise. After successfully taking over the ship, he redirected it to Mudd to carry out "Lord" Mudd's plan.

(30,885 posts)I can remember a few times near his run-ins with Picard where there was actually a worthwhile lesson that came out of the fracas. Not that he didn't enjoy watching Picard twist in the wind...he most certainly did. But Romney is just the guy who "likes firing people," and there's no depth behind that. He likes firing people. That makes him feel good. The end.

(10,857 posts)From the TNG 2-part episode "Conspiracy." The episode is actually an interesting exploration into the true nature of conservatives, and how they are in actuality all controlled by small sea-monkey like neural parasites from outer space, and like eating bowls of live mealworms.
Eventually, Riker and Picard identify Remmick as the member of Starfleet that is hosting Karl Rove, and, realizing he's already bought the Supreme Court, instead shoot Remmick with phasers until he explodes in a bloody mess reminiscent of the upcoming GOP convention.
