Our boy eats cheese and eggs. Haven't seen him eat veggies.
He's an older cat and he lost his sister during the summer. We just let him have whatever he wants at this point.

(12,157 posts)We've had cats with odd tastes, one liked PB&J sandwiches-just a nibble, some ate green beans and other veggies. My Mom had a Siamese cat that like to take bites out of ripe tomatoes.

(25,934 posts)I once had a cat (solid-black male) who loved canned peas. Set some on a dish, he would skewer them individually on a claw and take them to his mouth. The cat I have now can't even be coaxed into eating a bit of tuna or salmon. She would do anything for a cheese cracker, however.

(23,224 posts)(cooked, of course!) She had some weird tastes! Even ate green beans (cooked). My most recent kitty loved cheese (American or cheddar; didn't seem to care much for other kinds--smart cat!)

(4,492 posts)Interesting because cats can't taste sweetness.

(46,327 posts)Shredded Colby/Monterey Jack, I use it in cooking, and the cats love a little cheese I give them.
But only a little bit.

(4,492 posts)I can remember several times microwaving leftover restaurant pasta then leaving the plate to cool while I ran to the bathroom.
Tabby would be eating the cheese by the time I returned. And he LOVED mac and cheese.

(25,300 posts)We got the cat when I was a kid.
My mom said we couldn't feed it milk because after the kitten stage they are lactose intolerant.
However, whenever I opened the fridge to make my breakfast, she would be right there meowing.
So, one day I threw her a slice of cheese. I threw it on the floor and there was no messy evidence that I was sneaking my cat dairy.
I did this every day and no diarrhea.

Our cats declare, "Cheese is what food eats. You put out the cheese. The mice eat the cheese and then we eat the mice."

I had a previous cat who loved lotion. As in eating it. She would gnaw on the end of the lotion bottle until we would give it a push. It was really strange.

(3,592 posts)She ended up almost completely bald/hairless. The vet said she was allergic to dairy and to remove it from her diet. We did and her fur grew back. Very odd.
