I was able to clear my driveway but once the plow clears the street, I might be blocked in until Spring.

Might want to invest in one.

(26,281 posts)Some of the plow drivers are great and manage to do their job without putting an 18" high blockade of compressed snow and ice at the foot of my driveway. But there is always the sadist who enjoys being cruel. I have witnessed it, for myself, and actually saw the guy laughing as he aimed for the huge pile of snow and slush, and plow it right into my driveway - with me standing right there, shovel in hand!! Another neighbor saw him doing it, again, further up the street. We tried calling to complain but the road commission said there's nothing they can do about it.
One year my brother used an ax to chop through what the plow left behind. It was the only way we could remove it.

(26,281 posts)At least this was light and fluffy snow. And fortunately I am well stocked, with no need to go anywhere. Apparently that also applies to everyone in the neighborhood because I haven't seen or heard any vehicle traffic since the mail truck came through, this morning.

(26,281 posts)Now the wait for the snow plow.
I hope it stops here soon. This has been one heck of a winter. I don't mind snow - just the extremely cold temps.

(11,802 posts)Just got in from running the snow blower. 3rd time today. I'm about 3 miles from lake Michigan on the eastern side in Indiana. Worst county in the state for snow!

(26,281 posts)Then I probably would have been able to clear the road, in front of my driveway. Now, it's impossible to do with my little snow blower. I'll just have to wait for people to start driving by and compressing the snow, until the plow comes through.
If I lived closer.......

(26,281 posts)If there are just a few inches of snow, I still just use a shovel and when the snow is really deep and my neighbor is home, he takes care of my driveway, for me. But I've gotten to be pretty handy with my little old snow blower, which is fortunate, because today, of all days, Jon isn't home!

(26,281 posts)Which is where the worst of this snow happened. From about Genesee County, south, and the further south, the more the snowfall.

(26,281 posts)I pretty much lost the wonder after the Winter of 2013/14 tried to kill me. The closer it gets to Spring the less I feel the PTSD backlash but I always hope for an early change of seasons.
