Phil Hendrie is a radio personality who has a repertoire of more than 30 distinct character voices which he brings out to have fun with listeners who believe the characters are real.
Some of my favorite Phil Hendrie characters are:
- Bobbie & Steve Dooley
- Ted Bell
- The Korean War vet
- Jay Santos from the "Citizens Auxiliary Police"
- Bud Dickman, who works at the station with Phil
- Raj Feneen (The 1st character Phil invented)
- Steve Bozell
- General Johnson Jameson, who usually appears as a guest of Art Bell (voice done by Phil)
He used to be on KFI-640 AM in LA, where I used to be able to hear him 5 nights a week.
I think the only way to hear him these days is via "Podcast"
There is a 5 minute You Tube video showing Phil doing his show called:
"The Genius of Phil Hendrie - You Tube"

(31,112 posts)sure, I would pay close attention to see if he and one of them spoke at the same time and when I confirmed that it was then clear, but still funny as hell.
Bobbie is the main one I remember, I need to listen to more though.

(27,816 posts)The best part about Bobbie Dooley was her husband, Steve's comments in the background.
I think the You Tube video shows him doing Bobbie & Steve, and he uses the mic for Bobbie, and talks into a telephone when doing Steve.

(5,528 posts)I don't remember any specific characters but they were all a hoot.
He was THE troll before the internet existed. The things he would say to get his unaware listeners wound up were just crazy. I loved when the listeners would get so wound up they would call in and he would just take them further down the rabbit hole.
