(48,439 posts)Still, I remember some years back in Minnesota, in February, the coldest days, wind chill of -30, or so, and all of a sudden a flock of robins - 4 or 5 - descended on our heated water bath to drink. This is how I found, from DUers, that, yes, there are robins in Minnesota in the winter.

(804 posts)I adore robins and they've been a symbol of hope for me my whole life. I can't wait to see one soon, as I could use a little hope right now!

(5,469 posts)My dozen large holly trees were laden with berries this winter until hundreds of robins arrived several weeks ago, during an extreme cold spell. For about a week robins feasted until their bellies were huge and they had nabbed every single berry and then they all disappeared heading north. I miss all the frenetic activity, but not the droppings they left behind!
