More progress on the "Is it ever going to feel like Spring?" front

My Crocus has finally opened. I now almost feel as if I can be slightly optimistic about the possibility maybe there's a chance of Daffodils opening, by the end of the week. But, for now, I am content with this:

The daffodils next to the house are up and in bud, but everything else (hyacinth, tulips, narcissus and lots more daffodils) are just poking up through the soil.

I am so anxious for it to get warm enough for me to get outside so I can start clearing the flower beds and veg garden.

Looks like they're settling in. Hope we'll be godparents by May.

Can't wait for our daffodils.

7. I haven't seen any robins yet. We usually have great thundering herds of them stomping around.

There's still a fair amount of snow covering; they're probably biding their time farther south.

but that's not a crocus. It's miniature iris (iris reticulata).

However, I like them better than crocus!! You sure have a lot of spring bulbs in your yard. Lovely.

To be honest, I never gardened in my life, until I inherited this property, so I'm pretty much learning everything by the 'seat of my pants, happenstance, luck of the draw and 'hmmm, I wonder what this is, and I wonder if this will grow here.' This was one of those things that was here. And I DID wonder why it looked so different from the other crocus. WHICH ARE SOOOOO LATE!!!!

Thanks!! I might share more 'mystery' stuff that pops up and hope you can help ID it!!

If I remember correctly, didn't you say you lived in Michigan?

Part of the fun of living in a new place is seeing what pops up in the yard.

I was an apartment dweller, all of my adult life. Moving here and having a massive double lot with lots of planting areas has been a bit of a challenge, at times. Especially before I retired. My sister was a lot of help - she was a garden wizard - but she died in 2015. So now, when I'm up to my elbows in soil and seed, I like to think she's still giving me advice. I put in Bee Balm, in her memory, because it was one of her favorite plants.

I do have a tiny white flower with a slightly blue tinge that shows up, and is quite prolific. I thought I had a photo, but I'm not finding it, right now.

I'm anxious to add more to my wild flower bed, this year.

Our house in Indiana had a gorgeous trio of huge peony plants. We moved there in May so we did not know about them until the following March-April.

I have not yet found a peony which will grow in North Texas. I love them.
