These assholes named a (very expensive!) perfume "Fucking Fabulous."

I can just imagine the looks on the faces of cosmetics-department managers from coast to coast..."how the hell are we going to display THIS?"

(19,201 posts)Or people could just say "to hell with that, it's too much trouble". Trying to understand what drives consumer sentiment is enough to drive some people mad. I'm so glad I'm not one of those people. Nothing goes on my face but soap, water, and skin cream in the drier winter months. Even as a 'young stud on the prowl' I never even wore aftershave. I couldn't stand the way I smelled.

(23,985 posts)So far, pretty much only when I am home alone, or in the car by myself. Very occasionally in front of my husband, who has also started using when ranting about the idiot in the Oval Office.
I find I am having to watch myself in public,, lest it slip out in inappropriate circumstances.

(92 posts)Someone who, in my opinion, almost always succeeds. Maybe this will be the one thing with which he does not. ?
He pretty much single handedly saved Gucci. For a great read, check out The House of Gucci. Its fascinating, covers a murder in the family, the failure if a storied brand, and it's turn around by Ford.
Ford had his own successful label too of course.
He also directed the film The Single Man, starring Colin Firth. Based on a book, it's the story og a gay man in the 60s whose partner dies, and he is completely shut out of the funeral etc, and becomes suicidal in his grief. It's brillant and so well done, and I think I heard Ford felt personally moved to tell the story. Once my husband and I watched it, (we are both in fashion industry) we kind of felt Ford had a midas touch. He has directed another film too, I havent seen it.
I also read Tom started wearing suits to school as a young man and never stopped. He has this belief he always needs to look his best, because we are all visual viewers in the world and he sees himself as needing to look nice, as part of any scene. Lol it's an unusal point of reference in a way, but one fashion people seem to adhere to on some level, he just has achieved it--by always dressing up.
I think this is a terrible name fir a frangrance, but would not be suprised at all if it is profitable, given his track record.
