"Ready Player One." What say you?

Workmen are finishing up the plumbing and electrical, and installing the new appliances in our kitchen. It's my day off from babysitting them and I'm hiding out at the movies.

Ready Player One looks good.

Is it?

For a film with so much CGI, it is surprisingly human. I think that is Spielberg's particular gift.
hope this helps.

how could anyone ever get all of it into the movie? I was an arcade teen so the references in the book took me right back there. I don't think you'd need to have read the book to enjoy the movie though. It's the kind I'd like to see again to catch stuff I may have missed.

...but I basically lived at the Sega Center back in late 70s and 80s. I was there when Asteroids blew up. (Yeah. I was that guy.)

Anyway, movie starting in two minutes. I'll report back after.

I have NOT read the book, but have no doubt that it's better. Books almost always are. But from someone who only saw the movie, it stands quite well on its own.

I'm supposed to read it as part of my writing and editing course. My teacher recently went to see the movie and thought it was an abomination lol
