(35,438 posts)Thanos wants to kill half the population randomly. Trump voters only want certain members of the population killed mostly based on race, ethnicity, and religion.

and doesn't particularly care who or what was done to get to that point. Untold multiple hundreds of billions to the nth died to meet an ideal that made no sense and had no reasoning behind it. Would trump voters be any better if their stance was we don't care how many people are screwed over as long as they get to live the way we feel is right?

(6,241 posts)environmentalist. He wants to kill half the population to protect natural resources. Extremism in sustainability. You figure 100 people can deplete this much land, water, food, ect, and it will run out in 1 year. If you kill half of them, that same amount of resources will last 2 years, and may even replenish itself.
There was one scene where he's talking to Gamora about a planet he did this to (way before he got the Infinity Gauntlet), and he's touting it as a success. He says something along the lines if "Yeah, what we had to do was horrible, but look at the place now! Food is plentiful, the water is clean...."
Thanos is how the right sees environmentalists. "They want to kill everyone to save mother earth!"

(2,768 posts)anything except take a refrain jacking up everything to dig up resources before its too late. Not a damn thing we'll be able to do if we can't breathe the air, drink the water or plant any crops.
